About Our Host

I am Ward Richmond

I am from Dallas, TX.

Despite living in the same city for the majority of my life, I am grateful I still had the opportunity to meet a wide array of  badass, inspiring friends from all around the world.

Today, these lucky friends of mine are all experiencing the same thing:

Me tracking them down, sticking a microphone in their faces and asking them to share their life stories with me and YOU, the dear listeners of Truckin' On!

After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in '96, I attended Brown University where I played football, rugby, served as Rush Chairman of the Sigma Chi fraternity ("Ward RIchmond, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet you!") and miraculously graduated in 4 years!

Post college, I worked as a touring musician with the bands Slick 57 and Boys Named Sue (and waited tables) playing 200 shows a year throughout the US, Europe, Australia and beyond until I turned 27 and retired. I still write and record music and occasionally perform live.

Since 2006, I have worked as an industrial real estate broker completing over 1000 transactions throughout North America resulting in billions of dollars in volume. I have worked at Colliers (NASDAQ: CIGI) since 2012 where I currently serve as Vice Chairman.

Disclaimer: All thoughts, statements and off-the-wall Truckin' On comments are my own.

I love the commercial real estate business and the logistics business and I am very thankful for the opportunity to play a part in working to enhance our global supply chain.

I am a lifelong athlete and some might call me obsessed with wellness. I completed 3 ironman triathlons before I retired from the sport in 2013 and took up hot yoga.

I became a mental health advocate in 2015 when my marriage counselor told me I was a "high functioning alcoholic" and I became awakened to the fact that, unbeknownst to me, I had been struggling with anxiety, addiction and other mental health issues for the majority of my life.

My recovery process has allowed me to experience, first hand, many different modalities of treatment for mental health and addiction issues including inpatient treatment, the 12 Step Program, talk therapy, pharmaceutical drugs, psychedelics, sauna, cold plunge, journaling, meditation, breath work, and prayer.

I have attended countless seminars with world class wellness experts including Baron Baptiste, Tony Robbins, Wim Hof, Dave Asprey, Kyle Kingsbury and Dr. Joe Dispenza to optimize my personal wellness practice.

I enjoy reading, writing and speaking about CRE, eCommerce, the logistics industry and all things Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health. I've been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on podcasts like the GaryVee Audio Experience, The Grant Cardone Zone and Supply Chain Now.

Most importantly, I am a dad to my two young kids, Betty and Levi. I'm divorced but I'm still good friends with their mom and love them all very much.

Last but not least, I am on the board of the JDRF to help support finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes which my daughter Betty was diagnosed with at Age 4. Hit me up if you would like to support this wonderful cause!
